The Artist

Chris Tille is a contemporary artist working with scientific data as artistic material.

Originally trained as a classical photographer in Innsbruck, Austria, he now creates large-scale works translating complex scientific signals into visual form.

Using photography, installation, and sculpture, Tille transforms scientific measurements and research data into expressive visual structures.

One of his most notable works visualizes the Big Bang using scientific data from the Max Planck Institute, translating cosmological measurements into a monumental artistic image.

His work has been widely recognized for its innovative approach to data-driven art. In 2022 and 2024 he was named one of the “99 Future Blue Chip Artists” worldwide, and in 2025 he received the Maurice de Mauriac Award at Photo Basel. In 2023 he was also featured as a FAZ Vordenker, highlighting his work at the intersection of scientific research and contemporary art.
